Those of you who have been editing your login background since 10.7 through to 10.7.3 would have noticed that upgrading to 10.7.4 broke the custom login background. This is because Apple have changed the way in which this background is applied, as well as the location.
This “how to” will walk through the steps necessary to change the default login window background. For example, you may want to change this so it is the same as your background when you are logged in.
We recently purchased a new MacMini Server which came with Lion Server pre-installed. You no longer receive media, as we know – Lion is a media-less release. So I hit a snag when I wanted to restore the MacMini back to a clean install – at work our internet connection goes through a proxy server – as per the Apple documentation, Lion Recovery HD (CMD+R) doesn’t support the use of Proxies!
