Apple to allow Lion as a virtual OS

Regular visitors to the site will be familiar with the recent post I made about running Lion in a Virtual Machine. Recent news suggests that Apple are changing their EULA for the final release of Lion so that users can run virtual copies of the OS if they wish.

In the past we have only been permitted to run the Server version of the Apple OS in virtual machines, until now. The final end user agreement released to developers suggests that this has now changed.

(iii) to install, use and run up to two (2) additional copies or instances of the Apple Software within virtual operating system environments on each Mac Computer you own or control that is already running the Apple Software.

Great news indeed as this will also see better support from the likes of VMWare and Parallels not that it is “legal” to run them this way.
